This man may have been holding his hand over his mouth, trying to avoid suffocation.

Victim 69 was a male over 20 years of age, found in VII.16.17 Casa di Maius Castricius, probably room 19, between 1958 and 1980.

Folds are recognizable along the surface, probably belonging to a tunic.

Before the 2015 restoration it rested on a raised bed of gypsum and waste material (pumice).

As part of the 2015 restoration the raised bed was removed.
